Infrastructure Engineer - On Set

This isn’t your typical Infrastructure Engineer role. Being part of the On Set IT team means you’re the IT person as close to the movie making action as it gets. The On Set IT team are responsible for the infrastructure setup and support for our three on set departments. This involves supporting existing infrastructure in our facility as well and building and supporting infrastructure in locations around the globe.

Responsibilities

• Have the availability to travel to support local and overseas shoots. This can range from days to months depending on the size of the project.
• Deploying and ensuring the motion capture infrastructure is ready for shoots both onsite and offsite.
• Assisting with data ingest and managing storage resources both onsite and onset.
• Supporting the onset crew and developers with all manner of IT requirements and issues.

Skills required

• Hands on experience with Linux, MacOS and Windows
• Hands on experience supporting storage, network and server/workstation hardware
• Automation tools experience (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt or similar)
• Excellent communication skills
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable with working independently
• Ability to think on your feet and come up with creative solutions
• A hunger to learn

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the VFX production, entertainment, media or gaming industries
• Prior onset experience
