Wrangler

We are looking for curious, enthusiastic individuals with customer service experience and an interest in technology and visual effects to join our fast-paced Render Wrangling team. Our Render Wrangling team supports the rendering process across our productions by monitoring the render farm and becoming involved in all aspects of the production pipeline.

Wrangling is an important support role that is unique to the film and visual effects industry, involving rendering, data processing, and helping deliver our VFX work to clients around the world. It offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience in a world-class production environment while developing technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

This is a role that is specialised to visual effects.

What the job involves:

  • Monitor, manage, and maintain the ability of the Render Farm to function at its maximum.
  • Maintain and track rendering priorities for our production teams
  • Troubleshoot rendering issues and escalate appropriately
  • Working closely with the infrastructure and engineering teams to help support production

What you would bring with you:

  • Be an excellent communicator and team player.
  • Familiarity with Linux (or any other UNIX.)
  • Willingness to do shift work and variable hours; between 40 - 50 per week.
  • Tertiary Degree or Cert in IT, Comp Sci or Digital Media Design (Animation, Digital Art, 3D Modelling, Web Development), or relevant industry experience.
  • Self-driven, proactive and able to work independently but also within a team
  • Knowledge of Katana, Nuke, Maya or other VFX industry tooling

Desirable skills you may also bring:

  • Service desk or customer service experience
  • Basic understanding of machine hardware components, networking and system monitoring tools.
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python
  • Data analysis and graphing.
