Senior Project Manager - Technology & Research Production

We are looking for an experienced senior project manager to join our project management team. Project management within our Technology and Research space helps to deliver technology in many varied and highly technical areas – from Simulation, Rendering and Research, through to Engineering & Pipeline, along with frontend user and artist support. This position is for our Wellington, New Zealand office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with the project leadership team to manage the entire development, release, and support processes of your projects
  • Facilitate communication within the project team and among key stakeholders
  • Build positive relationships with varying production teams to ensure seamless entry into the development teams
  • Regularly generate and present project status reports for key stakeholders
  • Conduct project post-mortems for both internal and external review
  • Regularly groom and re-prioritise backlogs
  • Manage the scope and capacity of the various teams throughout development life cycles, ensuring the quality of deliverables whilst maintaining strategic alignment with the business goals
  • Work closely with programme and project managers to improve project management practices throughout the business

What we’re looking for:

  • You are a Project Manager with extensive experience working in the industry of VFX, film, games or on sophisticated technical projects
  • A broad understanding of software development methodology and the varied approaches and application of
  • You can find the right balance of approach in process and management within a fast-moving and changeable environment
  • A strong influencer with great communication skills, able to work with diverse groups and align teams around common goals
  • You are user focused - bringing a professional attitude with stellar interpersonal skills, and are able to resolve technical conflicts with empathy and understanding
  • Adaptability to embrace and navigate change
  • Ability and willingness to quickly grasp complex technical issues and translate these through to actionable development plans

You might also have:

  • Qualifications in Project Management (such as prince2, PMP)
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, PSA tools, or other similar project management software
  • Ability to code
  • Experience in VFX, film or video game production, or in computer graphics
