We are seeking expressions of interest for a 6 month contract to be based in our Vancouver hub.
A Creature Cloth and Hair Technical Director is responsible for the set-up and simulation of dynamic elements that are worn by, attached to, or interacted with by digital characters and assets. This includes clothing, hair, fur, feathers, as well as props with dynamic elements, ropes and boat sails to name a few.
Working within the Creatures department, the Creature Cloth TD works especially closely with the creature riggers as well as the modeling and animation departments to ensure all cloth functions properly across the pipeline as well as ensuring assets from other departments work within the cloth pipeline. This is a technical role that requires some scripting and previous cloth simulation experience.
The Creature Cloth and Hair TD must have the technical knowledge to troubleshoot a variety of issues across the pipeline.
Good debugging and reasonable python scripting skills are seen as important attributes.
